Daniel "Brat" Berassi who directly helped put these things together.

It has been asked time and again by countless people now, but not a single person from the labels or DM camp can be bothered to give an answer of whether or not we'll also ever get those singles later somehow. The extraordinarily frustrating part is having no clue whatsoever what will ever come of all those singles. That system seems to foretell the omissions of all future non-album singles as well.
#Depeche mode singles box series
The other earlier "non-album" singles that WERE included with the 12" sets in this series may not have been on the ORIGINAL albums as they were released, but they were still included on those albums in some form or other dependent on the country, which is why they made it into these sets rather than also being left off. It was technically taken from The Singles 86-98 compilation, just as STD & ICAH which were technically taken from The Singles 81-85 compilation, so I'm certain it will also be left out of the albums sets like those previous singles were, unfortunately. I am not expecting the inclusion of OWILM with the Ultra set, though. so that could work against it getting released with Ultra's. Given the level of detail and inclusions with previous sets, I personally think they WILL include those promos with the Exciter set. Ultra will definitely have 5 singles, but Exciter could have anywhere between 5 to 9 depending if they also include all the promos that contained more/exclusive remixes similar to the World in My Eyes promo included with the Violator set.

One of the factors that likely determines a dual or individual release is how many pieces each set will contain. If we do get a dual release, then that means we'll also likely get the sets for PTA and SOTU by the end of the year. We will definitely get the 12" sets for both Ultra -and- Exciter this year - the only question is whether or not they'll be released simultaneously as a pair like S&S/ABF, CTA/SGR and BC/MFTM all were, or if they'll spread them out individually like Violator and SOFAD were.
